- New Options for use with MDS v2
The Options window has been expanded to include new information,
mainly associated with contacts details for your service.
These contact details will be included in the MDS report,
if they are available.
- Changes to Client Date of Birth
With the introduction of MDS v2, Date of Birth is now mandatory for all clients.
A new check box has also been added to indicate
if the Date of Birth provided has been estimated.
For existing clients that don’t have a Date of Birth recorded,
they will be automatically assigned a Date of Birth of 1 Jan 1900 and the Estimated box will be checked.
It is recommended that these dates should be changed to something
closer to the client's actual date of birth prior to the next MDS report.
You can identify those clients by searching for "1900"
using the Find facility on the Client window.
- Improved error message when mandatory fields are missing
A more informative message is not displayed when a value has not been entered
for a mandatory field on the Client Details window.
- Ability to search for clients based on MDS Client ID
If errors are detected in an MDS report that has been submitted,
details of these errors will be returned to your service.
Depending on the type of errors, you may be asked to rectify the problem and resubmit the MDS report.
This will usually involve making some changes to the MDS details for some of the clients.
The error details provide will reference the client by an MDS Client ID.
You can now search for clients using the MDS Client ID,
using the Find facility on the Client window.
- New tabs and controls on Client MDS window for MDS v2
Several new tabs and fields have been added to the Client MDS window
to allow the new MDS v2 information to be viewed and updated.
- Information about the client’s carer is available from the Client MDS window
MDS v2 requires information to be provided about a client’s carer, if they have one.
Name and contact information for the carer is recorded as a Client Contact,
with a contact type of Carer. To make this simpler,
the list of client contacts can be displayed directly from the Client MDS window.
- New controls added in Client Activity for MDS v2
Additional information needs to be collected when HACC Services
such as Transport is recorded as a Client Activity.
- Automatically compresses MDS files
The new MDS v2 format is much more verbose than the old format,
resulting in much larger files. However, MDS files can be accepted in a compressed format.
Compressing the files dramatically reduces their size,
making submission of the files much simpler.
MealsOnDisk will automatically compress the MDS files.
If you wish to view the contents you will need to use
a file compression utility such as WinZip or equivalent.
Windows XP includes the ability to view and extract the original files from compressed files.
- Upgrade script handles changes in MDS options
The database will be automatically updated to handle MDS v2.
Any client information that has already been entered will be converted to the new format.
In some cases there is not a direct translation from MDS v1 to MDS v2.
In this case, the most likely option will be used.
It is recommended that you review all Client MDS selections for your clients
after the upgrade has been completed.
- Changes to fix error setting Nr Meals to 0 for Meal Item.
In previous versions, it was not possible to change the value for NrMeals to zero,
and an error message was displayed. This has been fixed.
- Improved error message if a problem is encountered while Processing Deliveries
