MealsOnDisk 2.16 Changes

  • Remove Details - reducing the size of the database
  • MealsOnDisk maintains historic details of deliveries, charges, payments and adjustments for all clients. As you continue to use MealsOnDisk more information will be stored in the database. If you have been using MealsOnDisk for several years, you may find that the amount of information stored results in slower operations and larger backup files. To improve this situation, you can remove details of these transactions.

In order to remove transaction details you need to specify a date. All delivery, charge, payment and adjustment details up to, and including, that date will be removed.

Financial transactions will not be completely lost, because the details that are removed will be summarised as a single opening balance adjustment transaction for each client. The date you have selected will be used as the date of the opening balance transaction.

When transactions details are removed from the database, all records of the meals delivered are removed. This information is used for MDS reporting, so it is important not to remove any details for periods that have not yet been reported. For this reason it is not possible to remove details that are less than 6 months old.

  • Better support for Add-In reports
  • Several meal services have asked us to provide customised reports that are designed specifically for their service, and we have been able to do this for them. This change provides more flexibiity for these "Add-In" reports, and allows the report to prompt for a date period for the report. If you are interested in a customised report for your service, please contact us for more details.

  • Report Improvements
  • Some minor improvements were made to the Invoice Statement and Cash Statement reports, based on feedback from users.
