MealsOnDisk 2.8 Changes
Added support for networked operations
MealsOnDisk can be configured to connect to a database on a different computer
Typically this is used to allow more than one computer to access the same data
A licence is required for each computer that is running the MealsOnDisk application
The licence cost for MealsOnDisk which does not access a local database is 50% of the standard licence
In order to connect to a database on another computer, the computers must be connected via a local area network (LAN).
In addition, any firewalls running on the computers, or within the network, must be configured so that TCP/IP Port 1433 is not blocked
Payment to Volunteers can be tracked
Volunteers can now be rostered on more than once per month
When volunteers are rostered they can be associated with a duty and a delivery run
Volunteer payments are calculated according to the duty performed.
Volunteer Duties can be listed and there is a payment amount and a rate associated with each duty.
The payment amount is similar to a flag fall - each volunteer performing that duty will receive that amount each time they are rostered
The payment rate is associated with the distance of the delivery run. The distance is recorded in kilometres and the rate is $/km
The total payment for a volunteer performing one duty is calculated as (amount + rate * run distance)
When volunteer payments are processed for a particular day, payments are calculated for each volunteer rostered for that day.
Corrections to the payments can be made to handle situations where a different volunteer helped when they weren't rostered.
